Romantic Wine Getaway in Italy between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto

The first day is for relaxation in the beautiful setting of Castelbrando Castle: one of the largest and oldest castles in Europe with a view of the Prosecco hills. There will be a pleasant welcome drink and a tasting of two types of wine. You can then enjoy a pleasant moment of relaxation with a 20-minute couple's massage. What better way to recover from your journey? Immediately afterwards, a romantic dinner awaits you at the castle restaurant.

The second day is dedicated to Treviso, 43 kilometres away, so about an hour's drive. This city, built on the canals of the River Sile, is also known as "Little Venice". Here, enclosed by ancient walls within the historic centre, you will find numerous churches, monuments, and museums that you can admire as you stroll around the city. You can choose your lunch and then set off for a winery in the Prosecco hills with a visit and tasting. Upon returning to Castelbrando Castle, the wine moment continues with a tasting of three different types of Prosecco accompanied by a platter of cold cuts. It is possible to continue with a dinner at the Castle (this second dinner is not included in the cost). 

The third day continues in the name of food and wine with a visit to San Daniele del Friuli. This hamlet is a pretty town situated on the top of a hill and famous all over the world for its renowned PDO (Prosciutto Crudo) ham (105 km away, about 1 hour and 30 minutes). It will be possible to visit a local ham factory, observe all the stages of production of the famous San Daniele ham, and at the end of the visit, you can also enjoy a tasting. It will also be possible to buy the products tasted.

Lunch (not included) and departure for Udine (23 km - about 30 minutes): the city is dominated by a Renaissance castle, very welcoming and suggestive. Walkthrough the historical centre. Departure for Cividale del Friuli (16 km - about 20 minutes), a city rich in history and UNESCO heritage, ideal for a quiet walk and to enjoy an aperitif with local products and wines. On this third day, it is time to change castle and move to Spessa Castle (22 km - about 22 minutes). It is possible to dine at the Castle as an extra. 

On the fifth day, it is the turn of Aquileia, a UNESCO heritage site thanks to its archaeological remains, which are among the best-preserved from the Roman period (30 km - about 30 minutes). Visit the main attractions of the city and free lunch in the village. After lunch departure for Trieste with a stop at the Miramare Castle (41 km - about 47 minutes), you can visit the Castle and its wonderful park. Overnight stay will be at the Savoia Excelsior Palace hotel in the centre of Trieste. You will enjoy a dinner with a tasting menu at the hotel. 

The sixth day is entirely for Trieste, with a guided walking tour of the city and a coffee break in a historical café in the town. Lunch is free, and in the afternoon we recommend a trip with the boat "Delfino Verde" to Muggia, where it will be possible to visit this small fishing village. Free dinner in the historical centre.
