10. The Venice Biennale, a glimpse into the future

In the events not to be missed in September, we must mention the Venice Biennale. It is one of the most important cultural foundations in the world and takes place in the wonderful city of Venice.

This year it will take place from May 20 to November 26, 2023 and will include, as usual, the exaltation of contemporary arts such as film, architecture, painting and sculpture, dance, music and theater.

The 2023 Biennale will give us theater workshops, new College Music productions, guided tours, and more.

The Venice Biennale is famous for introducing the newness of the arts to the world; this year, the event title is "The Workshop of the Future." The concept of new technologies merging with old ones and how they can make reality what was previously unthinkable will be expanded.

The event will be held precisely in the Giardini, Arsenale and Historic Center of the city of Venice. The pavilions will invade the spaces of the city, enriching it with art and culture.

9. Genoa hosts exhibition of illusions, where everything seems surreal

The world of interactive arts nowadays is the attraction of the moment; and how to have fun through art? After the great success in Milan, Rome and Florence, this year Genoa is hosting the optical illusions exhibition at the Magazzini del Cotone in its Old Port.

It will be an experience not to be missed, there will be numerous installations capable of engaging all your senses, illusions that will take you into a distorted and surreal world and virtual reality that you can experience firsthand.

Specifically, we can find the flipped room, the hall of mirrors and many others. Thanks to virtual reality, you will be able to enjoy unique experiences such as finding yourself exploring Tutankhamun's tomb or experiencing your first flight or walking 150 meters above the ground experiencing the thrill of the void.

8. The Cremona Music Fair

For lovers of classical and contemporary music and musical instruments, Cremona Musica is the fair that will fulfil all your wishes. It will be two days dedicated to music, from 22 to 24 September, where you can also explore the beautiful city of Cremona. The festival will be held at the Cremona Fairground.

In honor of musical instruments, there will be over 300 exhibitors with the best pianos, guitars, wind instruments, strings and accessories in the industry.

Cremona Musica offers a rich program with concerts and exhibitions, presentations and performances of the highest level.

7. For green lovers, the Monza Park Festival

The Monza Park Festival is a cultural and artistic event designed to promote the Monza Park and all the surrounding green areas. It will take place in the city of Monza from 14 to 17 September at the Capitol Anteo Spazio Cinema. This festival will let you discover the most exciting and secret places in the city, all accompanied by a guide who will tell you the history and curiosities of the place.

There will be cultural and literary routes intertwined with the festival's protagonist, nature. There will also be areas dedicated to children where they can enjoy some very fun activities! The events will be divided into five thematic areas: Being and Wellness, Junior Fest, Environment and Sustainability, and Arts and Nature.

To open the festival there will be a speech by the President of the Consorzio Villa Reale e Parco di Monza Paolo Pilotto with the Councillor for Culture of Monza Arianna Bettin and Giovanni Vergani for the TikiTaka network, dedicated to social inclusion and well-being.

6. For avid readers, the Pordenonelegge

For the 24th year, the Book Festival with Authors, Pordenonelegge, will take place in Pordenone from 13 to 17 September. It is a highly articulated cultural event: it is made up of various paths so that you can choose the right one for you. These imaginary paths consist of dialogues, meetings and talks. There will also be numerous opportunities for growth and exposure for those who would like to grow in the world of publishing.

There will be famous guests such as the writer Andrei Kurkow and Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux. Big names from Italian and international literature will also be present.

5. Festival Le X Giornate, the cultural event not to be missed

This Festival, to be held in Brescia from 14 to 23 September, is one of the cultural events of the month of September not to be missed. The festival, characterised by the contamination of music, arts and languages, will focus on the theme 'Experience is Young'. There will be five areas of intervention, aimed at secondary schools; these areas deal with very important themes regarding adolescent growth and are: the protagonism of young people, the concept of the periphery, education in the use of technology and food responsibility.

Starting this year, a meeting point for young people, professionals and the interactive public called 'Professione Arte' will be set up in the city centre.

4. DMF, the Photography Festival

For lovers of contemporary photography, the DMF (Dalmine Manifestazioni Fotografiche) is an event taking place in Dalmine, a town a few kilometres from Bergamo, from 16 to 24 September 2023.

The town's theatres, squares and streets will be adorned with various photographic exhibitions where artists can express all their art in a stunning setting; there will also be an area dedicated to catering. There will also be meetings with famous photographers, guided tours, workshops and competitions for emerging artists.

3. Grape Festival in Solopaca, a name a guarantee

How better to celebrate the famous sweet and suave 'Solopaca' wine than with a festival in its honor? From 9 to 13 September 2023, the municipality of Solopaca hosts the Festa dell'Uva (Grape Festival), an event not to be missed! The main attraction of this festival are the allegorical floats, all decorated with grapes masterfully glued one by one; thanks to the fantastic shades on the grapes, the masters manage to create real representations. Surrounding the floats will be musical, culinary and also cultural events.

You will be able to admire the historical procession performing through the streets of the city accompanied by flag-wavers and musicians. Along the streets of the town you will also be able to taste all the typical local dishes; there will be stands with live cooking where you can taste cavati (flour dumplings), barbecued sausages, and above all lots of grapes and lots of Solopaca wine.

With the numerous stands of handicrafts and typical products you will be able to take home the memory of an unforgettable evening through souvenirs or typical local products and why not, even a bottle of wine!

2. Festival delle Sagre di Asti, a plunge into the past

Italy is a country rich in culture and traditions, and in order not to leave them in oblivion, the Italian people bring to life the customs and traditions of an ancient Italy rich in history. They do this through festivals such as this one, the Festiva delle Sagre to be held on 9 and 10 September in the city of Asti, Piedmont.

During these two days, the city will host the largest open-air osteria in Italy. There will be a wealth of food and wine specialties ranging from sweet to savory, all freshly cooked. All these delicacies will be accompanied by the area's DOC and DOCG wines.

To evoke the customs of the past, the municipality will organise, as is customary, a grand historical re-enactment: a parade of figures in period costume to recall life in the 19th century and a parade of floats depicting scenes of life in the fields, the grape harvest, sumptuous weddings and so on.

The third most important sporting event in the world will be held for the first time in Italy this year, in Rome from 25 September to 1 October 2023. Hosting this event will be the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, a few kilometres from the capital.

Two teams will compete, the European team and the American team composed of the 12 strongest golfers from Europe and the United States. Among the most anticipated players will be Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and others.
