The region of the Chianti wine, known abroad as Chiantishire, is a small region located in Tuscany between Florence and Siena, famous for its hills surrounded by vineyards and small medieval towns. Every season is a good time to discover the Chianti wine region since there are no weather o geographic limits to explore this area which is located between the cities of Florence and Siena. Autumn is a good period to enjoy this part of Italy not only to admire the amazing colorful experience of foliage but also to try the so called vino novello, the first wine production of the year. During the spring and the summer, you can experience the Tuscany countryside despite the presence of many tourists in search of the local beautiful nature. During the winter, the number of visitors drops and there is a beautiful atmosphere of quietness which surrounds the Chianti wine vineyards and its villages.

The Chianti wine region is easily reachable by car using the SS67 highway from Florence, a short journey that only takes 1 hour (approximately 40-50 km). As there is no railway, the best way to get to Chianti is by using private transport, usually included in Chianti wine tour tickets.
