First stage 9:30 a.m. Start of the itinerary at the House Museum: Licini's History and Entrance Hall

Osvaldo Licini House Museum Itinerary: the Entrance Hall

Estimated time: 15 minutes

We enter the House Museum in the fresh morning air, greeted by the simplicity of the entrance hall. Here we find a collection of period photographs, sketches and personal documents that introduce us to the life of Osvaldo Licini. Each image tells a fragment of his story: from his origins in Monte Vidon Corrado, through his academic studies, to his return to his home town after living in Paris. It is an environment that brings us closer to the man even before the artist, revealing his passion for experimentation and his continuous search for creative freedom. The small entrance invites us to slow down, to look carefully at the details, to listen to the first words of the guide who tells us anecdotes and curiosities about Licini's life. This first contact immediately immerses us in a suspended atmosphere, making us feel as if we had entered another era.

Second stage 9:45 a.m. the atelier of Osvaldo Licini: a dive into the universe of the artist

The Atelier of Osvaldo Licini

Estimated time: 30 minutes

We climb the stairs to the atelier, the most atmospheric room in the house. This is where Licini created his most famous works, surrounded by the silent beauty of the Marche hills that can be glimpsed through the windows. The atelier preserves intact the easels, unfinished canvases, worn brushes and colour-stained palettes, elements that make us feel the artist's presence as if he were still among us. The natural light filtering through the large windows is extraordinary: it changes throughout the day, transforming the atmosphere of the studio into a continuous play of chiaroscuro that reflects the character of Licini's works. Here, the guide tells us about his ‘Amalasunte’ and the ‘Rebel Angels’, enigmatic figures that seem to emerge directly from the panorama outside. The visit becomes a dialogue between the artist's inner world and the landscape outside, with the gently undulating hills merging with Licini's abstract and symbolist art.

Third stage 10:15 a.m. Licini's cellar: between art and political commitment

The Cellar of Osvaldo Licini

Estimated time: 20 minutes

We now descend into the cellar of the Casa Museo, a place full of meaning, where time seems to stand still. The atmosphere here is different, almost more intimate and cosy, with the brick vaults telling stories of rural tradition and life lived. During the visit, we discover that this space was not just a workshop for preparing colours: it was also a place for meeting and political discussion. During the years when Licini was mayor of Monte Vidon Corrado, the cellar became a small intellectual salon, where innovative ideas were discussed and initiatives for the town were planned. It is fascinating to think that it was in this very corner of the house, among pigments and brushes, that the artist reconciled his passion for art with his desire to improve the social reality that surrounded him. Today, the cellar is also an exhibition space for temporary contemporary art exhibitions, keeping Licini's innovative legacy alive.

Stage 4 10:35 the rooms of the house: everyday life and creativity

The Rooms of the Osvaldo Licini House Museum

Estimated time: 30 minutes

We continue the visit by exploring the other rooms in the house, a journey through everyday life and creativity. The kitchen, with its Swedish wood furniture brought by Licini's wife Nanny Hellström, is a room that unites two cultures: the Nordic and the Marche. Here, we observe two small doors painted by Licini himself, details that reveal the artist's love for the beauty of simple things. In the living room, we find a portrait of Licini's mother and some local landscapes: a homage to his family roots and the land of the Marches. Going upstairs, we are greeted by the bedroom, an intimate and personal space, furnished in constructivist style with Swedish furniture. It was here that Licini, forced to rest due to a leg injury, often painted semi-reclining, allowing inspiration to flow spontaneously. The visit allows us to come into direct contact with the artist's daily life, revealing the deep connection between his work and small everyday gestures.

Fifth stage 11:05 the restoration of the Osvaldo Licini House Museum: conservation and enhancement

The Restoration of the Osvaldo Licini House Museum

Estimated time: 15 minutes

We conclude the visit by taking a closer look at the recent restoration that has brought the House Museum back to its original splendour. Thanks to the intervention of architect Manuela Vitali and restorer Moreno Angelani, the authenticity of the house has been carefully preserved. The walls, frescoed ceilings and original architectural details were restored with great care, respecting the spirit of the period and the aesthetics desired by Licini himself. This was not only a work of artistic recovery, but also a cultural enhancement project, aimed at making the artist's work known and loved. Today, the House Museum is a dynamic centre of cultural activities, welcoming visitors from all over the world with exhibitions, events and educational workshops. This section of the visit leaves us with a feeling of gratitude, for the commitment of those who have been able to preserve this place and for the possibility of an authentic and immersive experience.

Sixth stage 11:20 a.m. Regenerative break: flavours of Le Marche from Monte Vidon Corrado

Flavours from the Marche of Monte Vidon Corrado: ricotta and lemon cake

Estimated time: 40 minutes

After exploring the Casa Museo, it is time to relax with a regenerative break. We move to a cosy local café in Monte Vidon Corrado, where we can indulge in a taste of the flavours of the Marche region. We can choose between a slice of ricotta and lemon cake, a typical local dessert, or opt for a platter of local cold cuts and cheeses. If we prefer, we can accompany everything with a glass of Verdicchio or a herbal tea with herbs gathered from the surrounding hills. It is a time to recharge one's batteries, enjoying traditional cuisine and the warmth of the locals, combining artistic discovery with food and wine.

Last stop 12 noon Goodbye with a view from the Osvaldo Licini House Museum at Monte Vidon Corrado

We end our day with a short walk to the village's ‘panoramic balcony’. From here we can enjoy a breathtaking view of the hills of the Marche, the same hills that inspired Licini in his works. This place is perfect for a last moment of reflection, immersed in a landscape that seems to be suspended in time.
